CBA star guard Sun Minghui sidelined for rest of regular season with foot injury
The Zhejiang Lions announced on Friday that star guard Sun Minghui will miss the remainder of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) regular season due to
a fractured right heel bone.
The 28-year-old sustained the injury during Zhejiang's narrow 98-100 loss to Shanxi Loongs on March 5. Sun landed on teammate's foot, causing his right foot to twist outward. Subsequent medical examinations revealed a calcaneus fracture requiring four weeks of recovery.
Currently topping the standings with a 31-5 record, the Lions now face mounting pressure to maintain their position without their floor general. Sun has averaged 14.8 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 9.5 assists per game this season.
